WOW! Is this really my first blog since Mother's Day?? I guess we have been so busy this summer that I have forgotten to pick up the camera. But as the new school year gets closer (only 2 weeks away), Tyler is getting back into his scouting activities. This weekend his cub scout pack was invited to launch model rockets with the Southern Area Rocketry group in Hoschton, GA.
So they helped Jay make and decorate their own rockets.
Alli's was pink (of course), simply named 'Heart'.
And Tyler's called his 'Crossfire'.
Notice the hand-detailed fire imagery on his rocket.
Excited about registering their rockets for the first run.
Jay got them enough motors to launch each rocket about 4 or 5 times.
Loading the rockets on the launch pads...
And BLAST OFF...
I lost Tyler's in the sky,
but that tiny pink dot is Alli's rocket.
Then the looong (and hot), walk to recover the fallen rockets.

And because we had multiple motors, we got to do that over and over and over for most of Saturday morning. The kids had a blast though, and some of the older kids (i.e. adults) had some much larger rockets that they were launching in between all of the scouts, so that kept it interesting.
Next blog will probably be back to school pictures! Enjoy the rest of your summer!
