Tyler the Toy Soldier

Tyler had his Kindergarten Christmas Program last Tuesday. He was instructed to dressup in a white shirt and black pants so that he could play the part of a toy soldier on stage. He and his class sang a few songs for the parents.

Now he is in the music "holding room" just moments before his performance... the toy soldier's hat is the finishing touch to the ensemble.

Song #1 - Up on the housetop, click, click, click...

Unfortunately our cameraman was standing on the opposite side of the stage as the music teacher who all the kids were watching throughout the show. So Jay didn't get many shots of Tyler looking his way. I was sitting in the second row, almost directly in front of Tyler so I caught him glancing my way every now and then.

They even played the bells to the song Holy Night. Each kid had a different colored bell depending on the tone and the teacher held up color-coded flashcards, so they rang their bell when they saw their color on the card...

and the finale - Happy Birthday Baby Jesus - complete with the "Booty Shaking Part" as Tyler calls it...

Alli makes her ballet debut this Sunday in a performance of the Nutcracker with her dance class, so look for more videos next week if we can manage to record a few.
